Specialty Instructor

Calling all creatives, fitness instructors, wellness experts, and anyone with a desire to bring their special gifts and skills to the Newport Recreation Center members!

The City of Newport is looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and service-minded individuals to join our team of Specialty Instructors to bring exciting new programs to the residents of Newport.

As a Specialty Instructor, you’ll help our members stay active, build friendships, and maintain the physical and mental well-being that comes from moving together.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead safe, welcoming classes tailored to diverse audiences
• Maintain certifications on annual basis or as certifications require
• Help keep your classroom clean and organized after each session
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service. Create a positive experience for participants and staff through professional and courteous behavior.

Classes are scheduled based on your availability and room availability at the Recreation Center.

Strong customer service skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong oral communications skills with a variety of audiences. Strong reasoning, analysis, and problem-solving skills combined with excellent judgment and professionalism.

• A curriculum or plan for the class
• Your subject/focus area
• Your target audience
• Supplies you would need
• Space requirements
• Time needed for the class
• A minimum and maximum number for participants
• Your certification and training
• A short write up on what the class is to be used for marketing
