JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary

Provides support for member employment activities. Provides employment assistance support to members including connections to new employment opportunities and/or workforce development program resources, to support members in securing stable employment. Collaborates with community rehabilitation providers and provider agencies to identify temporary work options. Contributes to overarching strategy to provide quality and cost-effective member care. 

 

Essential Job Duties


• Engages directly with enrolled members to provide assistance and referrals to new employment opportunity resources and/or connection to workforce development programs - supporting members through job search/placement process. 
• Establishes connections with businesses for program development to create job opportunities for members. 
• Establishes connections with workforce development programs promoting collaboration and support to providers and agencies, increasing job placements of enrolled members. 
• Assists local governments in planning and development efforts, including development of projects, identification of funding sources and tracking projects to completion. 
• Establishes relationships with provider agencies to identify types of temporary work options and assists teams in referring job candidates to work programs. 
• Collaborates and provides technical training and support with community rehabilitation providers with paid vocational programs and establishes this component as an operational work opportunity (transition to competitive employment). 
• Educates employers about the abilities of the member population. 
• Investigates longer-term incentives to increase training, employment and development opportunities for the member population reducing unemployment/underemployment. 
• Prepares and submits required documents and reports accurately and in a timely fashion. 
• Local travel may be required (based upon state/contractual requirements). 

 

Required Qualifications


• At least 2 years of experience in behavioral health, public health, public policy and/or health care as a social worker, counselor or similar role, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 
• Knowledge and experience with community-based organizations, employment training and placement agencies. 
• Conflict management experience. 
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines. 
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Microsoft Office suite/applicable software program(s) proficiency. 

 

Preferred Qualifications


• Licensed Social Worker (LSW). 
• Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW). 
• Certified Supportive Employment Specialist (CESP).
