Job Description

Works in partnership with departmental leaders to provide program leadership. Develops and oversees programs/services/practices which meet the needs of patients, families, and the community.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in program development and management
  • 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in utilization management, case management, discharge planning, and/or quality improvement activities (if applicable in assigned department)
  • Experience in employee management, performance coaching, and fiscal management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Professional nursing certification preferred upon hire or within one year of hire
  • Experience in nursing management/administration

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in nursing

Certification Summary

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate effective critical thinking skills and anticipate patient discharge needs
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational, interpersonal, strategic planning, and community partnership development skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads in development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services of assigned focus area in collaboration with program Medical Director.
  • Assists in development and monitoring of strategic vision, annual goals, and program services in collaboration with program Medical Director.
  • Ensures compliance and oversight with appropriate agencies, protocols, and practices.
  • Works with departmental business and clinical leaders to ensure operational collaboration and oversight of departmental program, policies, and practices and to facilitate programs, policies, and practices which promote delivery of safe patient care.
  • Develops and maintains internal and community relationships effectively to ensure excellent communication and collaboration regarding focus area programs/services and outcomes reporting.
  • Manages employee performance effectively and encourages professional development of assigned staff by supporting participation in educational programs, professional organizations, and activities to promote competencies, develop and build job-related skills, and promote internal leadership.
  • Identifies competency and learning needs of internal and community professionals and develops training programs/services.
  • Coordinates with Legal, Marketing, Foundation, and Government Affairs on programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Develops and monitors annual operating budget for focus area.
  • Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  • Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  • Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
