The Opportunity:
Join CACI, a leader in providing innovative solutions for the nation’s most critical missions, as a Cyber Security Intern. In this role, you will learn how CACI enhances the cybersecurity posture of our Space Mission Systems through the execution of modification projects and coordination of vulnerability remediation. You will be trained in robust cybersecurity practices and standards, ensuring the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the DoD Satellite Control Network (SCN) to include both sustainment and modernization of current mission systems. The internship is scheduled to start in May, will last for approximately 12 weeks, and you must be available to work 100% on-site.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers in review of multiple RMF packages and risk assessments for mission systems supporting the Data Transport and Receive Network (DTRN), including SCN, SCN Test Lab, and Orbital Analysis Subsystem
  • Assist cyber engineers to identify, evaluate, and help mitigate cybersecurity risks across hardware, software, and network layers
  • Aid in the development of security design artifacts in alignment with program requirements
  • Be trained on automated vulnerability and configuration management using provided scripts, scanning tools (ACAS, Nessus, EvaluateSTIG, Ansible), and CI/CD integration where applicable
  • Conduct STIG scans and identify vulnerabilities across operating systems, firmware, and network devices
  • Support continuous monitoring strategies to maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) and respond to emerging threats



Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for writing, reviewing, and discussing highly technical documentation


Desired:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, but not required
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$39,900-$79,900
