Sourcing Project Manager is responsible for conducting all sourcing activities and managing suppliers for specific assigned indirect categories in accordance with the prescribed sourcing regulations and procedures. The Sourcing Category Project works in conjunction with Engineering Project Managers, Program Management, and other internal parties as applicable to meet Company manufacturing objectives and increase product commercial supply. Conduct Quality Management System (QMS) audits and supplier site visits to ensure relationship between parties will meet capacity requirements, cost expectations, delivery timelines, and quality standards. Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, contact management and conflict resolution with international and domestic vendors. Secure and source required project resources. Develop processes and procedures to support company interests. Expected to work and communicate well with team members, other departments, and Executive Management.

Primary Duties

  1. Manages and coordinates Sourcing/Purchasing activities related to allocated project(s) with a strong emphasis on CAPEX projects and associated Spare Parts.
  2. Works in conjunction with Program Management, Engineering, and other internal groups to develop and maintain project plans, including scheduling and milestones. Works with vendor to ensure timelines, quality, and cost objectives are met.
  3. Provides business oversight for projects and makes business decisions, as necessary, to keep project in alignment with quality, cost, and timeline goals.
  4. Shape and lead negotiation strategies that optimize cost competitiveness, guarantee supply capacity, and strengthen risk resilience; oversee contract governance and cultivate high‑performing supplier relationships that advance the company’s long‑term business and operational goals.
  5. Propose and implement risks mitigations plans, identify, and capture opportunities including Purchasing Cost Avoidance Plans.
  6. Drive supplier engagement in the company’s preferred sustainability programs, EcoVadis and Science Based Targets Initiatives (SBTi), by onboarding suppliers, monitoring progress, and driving continuous improvement toward corporate CSR goals.
  7. Effectively resolve disputes, hold crucial conversations, recommend solutions to identify the root cause of issues, and correct problems as needed.
  8. Advance strategic sourcing by researching, preparing and presenting to ProCo a high quality category and commodity strategy related to assigned categories.
  9. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Business preferred and 5 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement with strong emphasis in sourcing and supplier management
    • OR HS diploma/GED and 9 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement with strong emphasis in sourcing and supplier management

Preferred Education, Training and Experience

  • Proven track record of strong supplier management, with the ability to lead complex negotiations, drive accountability, address difficult issues directly, and maintain constructive, long‑term supplier relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead the end‑to‑end contract lifecycle—crafting high‑quality agreements, driving effective negotiations, and managing contract compliance and performance to maximize business value.
  • Demonstrated experience of exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience conveying strategic recommendations, leading discussions, and tailoring messages to executive, cross‑functional, and supplier audiences.
  • Experience with ISO standard supplier auditing preferred.
  • Indirect Procurement experience preferred.
  • Experience in medical/life science industry preferred.

Travel requirements: Domestic: 2–4 trips per year (2–3 days each); International: 1–3 weeks per year.

The estimated salary range for this role based in Utah is between $103,200 – 137,700. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living.
