Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Sourcing Manager to join our dynamic team. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the sourcing strategies and product cost structures across multiple categories. This role ensures competitive pricing, supplier reliability, and cost transparency, while maintaining quality standards and delivery timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and experience working with global suppliers.
Responsibilities and Duties
Sourcing Strategy & Vendor Management
• Execute sourcing strategies that align with company goals for cost, quality, and delivery.
• Partner with the Director of Operations to Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturing partners globally.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with vendors to ensure consistent performance and quality.
• Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations (quality, compliance, lead times, etc.).
• Manage Quality Assurance process between both development and production.
• Continuously strive to improve sourcing processes to increase efficiency, improve lead times and reduce costs
• Stay up to date with regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and industry best practices related to sourcing and procurement in the textile industry.
Costing & Margin Optimization
• Manage product costing processes from initial development to final production.
• Analyze cost breakdowns and identify cost-saving opportunities across materials, labor, and logistics.
• Collaborate with design, development, and production teams to ensure target costs are achieved.
• Review and validate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure cost transparency.
• Track and report cost variances and recommend pricing strategies to maintain target margins.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with internal teams (product development, sales, buying) to understand ever-changing customer needs in order to help strength supplier matrix and cost negotiations.
• Serve as the key liaison for day-to-day sourcing operations, working with internal partners, overseas teams and vendors.
• Work closely with Product Development, Merchandising, Production, and Sales to support the product lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Provide costing insights during product development and line planning meetings.
• Support Sales and Buying teams by aligning sourcing strategies with demand projections.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years proven experience in sourcing, product development, production, or supply chain management, preferably within the home textile industry.
• In-depth knowledge of textile materials, development/production processes, and industry-specific sourcing practices.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable supplier agreements.
• Excellent analytical abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with overseas suppliers, factories, and internal cross-functional teams.
• Capable of multitasking and problem-solving effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to juggle various functions at one time but stay focused on the big picture
• A sense of urgency and personal ownership of performance with the ability to work through barriers and challenges to deliver results.
• Experience traveling internationally and visiting overseas manufacturing facilities is highly preferred.
• Mandarin language proficiency is preferred.
• Highly proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
