Senior Software Engineer Relevancy
Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Search Engineer responsible for building and designing ideas, developing code for one of the best in class Search solutions in retail. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop SOLR /Search functionalities. You will be expected to own the solution and provide guidance to junior developers. We are using all the latest cutting edge technologies
Responsibilities:
• Building of Search module functionalities
• Writing high performing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Develop Search Services, design docs, code, reviews, etc.
Skills and Qualifications:
General expectations
• Hands-on understanding of OOPS design principle
• Good understanding of custom web implementation
• 4 to 6 years of Search experience (any search tool / custom impl)
• Good understanding and hands-on experience on Relevancy Strategies OOTB as well as custom
• Hands-on experience in containerization, cloud migration
• SRE model understanding is a nice to have
Search Expectation
• Experience in either SOLR/Elastic Search
• Understanding about ‘keyword search’, natural language search’ and cognitive search
• Understanding on Search platform eco-system Data Connectors, Data Transformation, Data Load, Data Index, Data Query Clients, Data Results Relevancy Modules
• Hands-on experience in using at least Solr 7.x, preferred if has 8.x hands-on experience
• Hands-on experience in implementing data gathering using frameworks like apache tika, and solr connectors for popular cms teamsite, drupal, adobe-cq, file-systems, dbs
• Experience in customizing search workflows that includes faceted search, keywords search, phrase search, query expansion using synonyms
• Experience in search results tuning by optimizing query load, offline sorting, shard based search
• Experience in CICD for in-house and cloud based implementations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in software development or a related field
• Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
