The Role
A well-established, employee-owned civil and environmental engineering consultancy is growing its Southeast Waste Management practice. We are looking for a Solid Waste / Landfill Engineering Project Manager to join one of three priority office locations.
You will lead design, permitting and construction-phase services for solid waste disposal facilities covering MSW, CCR and industrial waste across both private and public/government clients. This is a genuine PM seat: you will own projects from proposal through delivery, not just execute on someone else's plan.
Day-to-day, expect a mix of:
- Landfill system design (liners, leachate and stormwater infrastructure, gas collection, grading, site roadways)
- Airspace and earthwork volume calculations
- Permit applications, design reports, construction documents, specs and cost estimates
- CQA coordination during construction
- Client, contractor and regulatory agency liaison
- Mentoring and QC of junior staff work
What They Are Looking For
- 5 to 15+ years of solid waste / landfill engineering experience (level dependent on background)
- Proven track record in design, permitting and CQA for waste disposal facilities
- PE license (or ability to obtain licensure in NC/TN)
- BS in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering (MS preferred)
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and MS Office
- Business development and client management experience a strong plus
