Job Description

The role involves soldering and assembling cable and wire harness assemblies, box builds, kitting, and other products from start to finish. Cable soldering includes automated methods like wire-to-wire soldering for connectors and cable components, with occasional reflow, using both lead-free and lead-based solder paste and alloys.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and follow production documentation or sample assemblies.
• Receive verbal instructions regarding duties.
• Perform tasks such as labeling, wire cutting, stuffing, crimping, bagging and tagging, soldering, potting, IDC, SCSI, heat shrinking, measuring in inches (decimal form), backshelling, harnessing, harness board construction, box builds, kitting, creating wire lists, and pin extraction.
• Assist in the Quality Management System (QMS) and commit to continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in soldering, assembly, labeling, wire cutting, and crimping.
• Experience with harness assembly and heat shrinking.
• Knowledge of IPC 610/620 standards.
• J-STD-001 Certification (can be expired).
• Ability to use microscopes, long nose pliers, side cutters, and soldering iron.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with soldering wire-to-wire, wire-to-connector, lacing, connectors, thru-hole, stuffing, splicing cables, strip wire, epoxy, and solder cup.
• Familiarity with heat shrinking and hand crimping.

Work Environment

Work in a quiet assembly setting with individual workstations where all employees work autonomously. The environment maintains a strict no-phone policy to ensure focus and productivity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Diego,CA.
