About the Role

We're hiring 3 experienced Solder Assemblers to join a precision electronics manufacturing team working on complex, high-mix/low-volume PCB assemblies. You'll be hands-on every day — reworking advanced components, operating X-ray inspection equipment, and maintaining the highest workmanship standards in an ESD-controlled environment.

What You'll Do

  • Perform SMT and through-hole assembly on complex printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Remove, replace, and repair bottom-terminated components (QFNs, BGAs, LGAs) using hot-air pencils, hot plates, and rework tools
  • Execute precise reflow, pre-heat, and cooling cycles following component-specific thermal profiles
  • Operate X-ray inspection equipment to evaluate solder joints on hidden pads and verify rework quality
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and Bills of Materials (BOM) for correct component placement
  • Perform in-process quality checks (visual, AOI, X-ray) and document results per quality system requirements
  • Troubleshoot solder defects (tombstoning, voids, solder bridges) and implement corrective actions
  • Work under a microscope for extended periods while inspecting and assembling PWBs
  • Maintain ESD-controlled environments and follow all safety and compliance procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizations

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands-on soldering experience — certification not required but preferred
  • Experience with SMT and through-hole soldering on complex PCBs
  • Familiarity with BGA, QFN, and LGA rework processes
  • Experience operating X-ray inspection equipment is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and work orders
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under a microscope for extended periods
  • Comfortable in a structured, compliance-driven manufacturing environment

Schedule

  • Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST (10 hrs OT/week included)
  • Contract through June 2026
  • Medical exam required prior to start (per supplier guidelines)
