Job Description

We are seeking skilled technicians for a project at the Gemini Solar site. This role involves conducting preventative maintenance tasks on power blocks, which includes visual inspections, cleaning, and torque inspections of inverters. You will also be responsible for vacuuming dust off DC units and capturing before-and-after photographs of each unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of all cabinets to check for loose wiring, burnt BUS bars, melted plastics, and hot spots.
• Inspect RFI AC and DC boards for any inflation.
• Ensure door locks, weather seals on impulsion fans, and cable access seals in cabinets are intact.
• Check for water ingress in cabinets.
• Vacuum and clean transformer cabinet, canister filter cabinets, and sand traps.
• Clean heat exchangers in the roof area of the DC cabinet, as well as cabinet doors and fans.
• Conduct torque inspections on MV transformers and LC filter bolts, ensuring correct torque settings on capacitance banks, DU switch, PV, and BESS cables.
• Blow or vacuum dust from each cabinet.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical repair and service.
• Experience with hand tools and field service installations.
• Ability to conduct thorough visual inspections and preventative maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inverters and electrical components.
• Strong attention to detail for documenting maintenance tasks with photographs.

Work Environment

The work will be conducted at night in teams of two. This role requires a readiness to work in an outdoor setting, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely across 186 power blocks.

This is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Las Vegas,NV.
