Job Description

The Solar Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and vendors at the project site. This role involves assessing productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance. The manager will also ensure scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, and proper resource allocations while providing leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning projects ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to implement commissioning plans.
  • Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Resolve operational issues that arise during the commissioning phase.
  • Review agreements, contracts, and permits to verify compliance with building, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with development to ensure pending tasks are closed out at execution turnover.
  • Verify scheduling, delivery, and inventory of owner-supplied materials.
  • Attend EPC Contractor Plan-of-Day meetings to review previous day and current planned activities.
  • Conduct site audits and participate in safety meetings to assure site safety plans are being followed.
  • Interface with utility and project stakeholders on-site.
  • Provide updates on project status and construction progress.
Essential Skills
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning.
  • 6 - 10 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Work Environment

The role is field-based, requiring oversight of on-site construction of utility-scale solar projects. The manager acts as the main point-of-contact for EPC contractors, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance. Active participation in meetings and site audits is essential to maintain alignment with project goals.

This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
