SKILLS REQUIRED:
Primary (Must-Have):
Expertise with Android Automotive OS, Android Open Source Project (AOSP), and Google Automotive Services SDK
Strong development proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and core C++
Deep technical expertise in Machine Learning (ML) architectures and Large Language Models (LLMs)
Solid background in Embedded Systems Architecture, Design, and resource-constrained optimization
Master’s Degree (MS) or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a highly related technical field
Secondary (Good to Have):
7+ years of professional software research or advanced engineering experience
Experience evaluating hardware-accelerated ML workloads on microcontrollers or automotive ECUs
Strong analytical communication skills to present research insights and user feedback for software refinements
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Elite Software Researcher specialized in AI & Machine Learning to join an advanced engineering engagement fully onsite in Warren, MI. This research-driven role focuses heavily on investigating cutting-edge methodologies for efficiently deploying and running AI/ML architectures on embedded automotive computing platforms. The successful candidate will navigate the stringent constraints of resource-limited systems, optimizing runtime performance, power efficiency, and model execution speeds to influence future automotive technology roadmaps.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigate, prototype, and refine innovative methods for deploying complex Machine Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) onto constrained embedded computing platforms.
Optimize the execution performance of algorithms within the strict memory, thermal, and processing boundaries of automotive-grade hardware architectures.
Develop, modify, and test system-level code utilizing Android Automotive OS, AOSP frameworks, Kotlin, Java, and C++ environments.
Analyze system integration touchpoints and compile technical research feedback to drive future software refinements and architectural enhancements.
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate the intersection of hardware capabilities and next-generation automotive AI applications.
