The Software Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Software Engineering and serves as a technical leader and hands-on manager in our IT Department. This position works closely with the team, practices excellent teamwork with peers, learns quickly, and collaborates well in an Agile setting. This role focuses on servant leadership, team development, modernization of our key applications, executing business priorities, and helping us chart a course to the future through engineering excellence and innovation.
Hiring Range:$146,890 - $166,554*
Salary Range:$146,890 - $187,631
Candidates with more experience may be considered for a Sr. Software Engineering Manager position. Compensation and position will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Exemplify behaviors that support our IT vision and beliefs.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the activities related to the design, development, and implementation of software applications as assigned.
- Understand the strategic goals of the company and work with the Product Owner and business partners to ensure success.
- Provide leadership and management to multidisciplinary teams with a focus on developing people.
- Display Agile leadership and act as an agent for change within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and knowledge to the teams served.
- Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality at each stage of the process.
- Responsible for the integrity of the business applications and the meeting of SLAs.
- Strive for high quality and rapid output through the use of agile software development best practices and collaborative sessions (code reviews, whiteboarding, etc.).
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to oversee multiple competing, concurrent projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Solid business skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with business managers and executives.
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and motivational skills, with the ability to build rapport and grow consensus with team members, peers, and other groups.

- Strong knowledge of software development, testing, CI/CD, DevOps, maintenance, and support.
- A diverse software engineering toolbox, with experience using modern tools and languages.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT across Software Engineering and Software Development roles.
- 5+ years of people management, leading highly technical individuals.
- 5+ years of experience running projects and initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience with one major cloud platform and supporting tools and technologies i.e GCP, AWS, Azure.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
- Lifting of up to 15 pounds
