Own effective license position analysis for major publishers and strategically significant software portfolios.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex licensing, compliance, and tool-related issues within the SAM team.
Interpret software agreements, product terms, maintenance rights, subscription terms, and usage rights to assess compliance position and financial exposure.
Lead complex reconciliation activities across discovery, inventory, entitlements, contract data, and operational deployment records.
Drive optimization initiatives such as license harvesting, reallocation, standardization, rationalization support, and contract consolidation analysis.
Support internal and external audit response activities, including evidence development, data validation, issue analysis, and remediation planning.
Establish and maintain authoritative Effective License Positions (ELPs) for Top Tier publishers; lead audit defense strategy, including evidence validation, negotiation support, and legal coordination.
Define and enforce SaaS and cloud governance models, including provisioning controls, usage metering, license mobility, and cost optimization strategies.
Develop executive-ready dashboards and reporting on compliance risk, renewal exposure, optimization opportunities, and savings realized.
Serve as a point of contact for procurement, finance, legal, cloud, infrastructure, and service teams on software governance matters.
Assist in complex vendor negotiations and renewal strategies, including contract consolidation, pricing optimization, and risk mitigation.
Provide training, knowledge sharing, and best practice guidance to team members to elevate overall SAM program capability.
Mentor and help refine operational standards, playbooks, and quality controls.
Requirements:
Mandatory Experience with major enterprise SAM/ITAMplatform (Flexera).
Stronge experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, procurement analysis, licensing analysis, or a similar analytical IT function.
Advanced analytical capability using Excel and reporting tools; working SQL capability preferred.
Demonstrated experience building or supporting effective license positions for complex software publishers.
Strong understanding of software contract interpretation, entitlement analysis, and audit support.
Demonstrated ability to interpret legal agreements, licensing entitlements, and deployment data to determine compliance and financial impact.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive and cross-functional audiences.
Ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with major enterprise publishers and broad licensing concepts for user, device, server, subscription, and cloud-based software.
Experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent reporting tools.
