Softball Landscape Crew Member - Temporary 2026 Term

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general direction, landscape or maintain grounds of park and recreation facilities at the McAleece Complex and Veterans’ Memorial fields using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing including the Frisbee golf course, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking; and related work as required.

JOB DUTIES:

• Maintain baseball/softball fields.
• Drag and chalk fields for adult softball leagues and little league games.
• Communicate with Recreation Supervisor on field and equipment conditions.
• Dispose of trash and waste materials from fields and parking lots.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment.
• Prepare softball and baseball fields.
• Clean bathrooms, facilities and sites.
• Wear provided apparel while on duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Maintenance - Knowledge of materials, equipment, tools and techniques of maintenance of baseball/softball facilities, and park ground care needs.
• Manual Dexterity - Ability to hold, move or operate small lawn tractors, walk behind lawnmowers, utility vehicles, grass trimmers and paint machines with your hands.
• Multi-limb Coordination - Using your arms and/or legs together while sitting, standing, or lying down.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Must be 18 years of age.
