Position OverviewDivision of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Social Worker II for the Alton Mental Health Center (AMHC) located in Alton, Illinois. The incumbent will engage in professional social work services involving the application of social work principles and techniques in the evaluation, problem identification and treatment of forensically hospitalized adults manifesting complex emotional and psycho-social disorders. This position requires an individual who performs professional social work services within a multi-disciplinary team setting that includes primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinically licensed social workers, nurses, security therapy aides, vocational, activity and occupational therapists. The candidate will facilitate family meetings, confirm anticipated discharge dates and coordinate community linkage services to promote successful patient treatment and discharge.
