Snowflake Data Architect

Title: Data Architect

Location: 100 % Remote on EST (Must be based in United States)

Duration: 12 mo +

Our client is looking for a Data Solution Architect with experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders, building use case, analyzing data, developing data models, and migrating/converting data, identify need for & propose data warehouse changes. Will be both an operational and analytical role.

Required Skills:

1. Experience designing data models (No specific tool required, but they currently use VS code often, used to use Erwin back in the day)
2. SQL Server, T-SQL
3. Snowflake Platform experience
4. Experience working with business stakeholders
5. Any use of AI

Responsibilities:

• You will be building databases that support internal & external business applications.
• Need someone who shows genuine curiosity and interest in using AI to solve problems: Claude, Copilot, Gemini, Chat GPT, etc.
• Environment: Power BI/SSAS, Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, VS Code, DB docs, and GitHub (CI/CD)
• Need to augment Snowflake data warehouse, analyze legacy reports, design dimensional models, ingest new data sources (APIs, databases, SaaS), and build tables/stored procedures for operational systems handling a few million transactions.
• SSAS/Power BI experience does not need to be very recent; SSAS work from 2–7 years ago remains relevant because Power BI uses the same tabular/SSAS foundations.
• Short term expectation: Complete conversion/migration of SSRS reports
• An understanding of Kimball approach for downstream analytics with power BI is good to have
