SLOT ATTENDANT POSITION SUMMARY

The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests.  Employee must monitor performance of slot machines, player activity, and conditions of the casino slot areas ensuring that all slot machines are operable and identified for repair as necessary.

 

BARBACK POSITION SUMMARY

The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests.  Provide the bar area with supplies and provide the bartender with items on request, while assuring that guests have a favorable gaming experience.

SLOT ATTENDANT JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive.  Other reasonable duties may be assigned.

  • Provides exceptional guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow team members.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining positive guest relations.

  • Responsible for verifying jackpots, paying jackpots, completing paper fills and accurately filling out all related paperwork associated with the daily job duties.

  • Ensures the safety and security of all guests.

  • Have complete knowledge of all casino events and promotional activities. 

  • Assist in maintaining a spotless casino by disposing of any cups, glasses, bottles or other items left on the floor by guest.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends and holidays; shifts may change.       

  • Performs minor repair to slot machines.

  • Handles guest relations and minor guest disputes.

  •  Clean-Keep all areas clean and pristine; Safe-Follow all safety policies and procedures; Friendly-Use customer courtesy skills to provide superior guest service; Fun-Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards. 

  • Other duties as assigned – up to, but not limited to:

  • Knowledgeable of basic slot machine functions and the ability to do minor troubleshooting

  • Ability to complete slot-related paperwork with minimal errors

  • Knowledge of Gaming laws and regulations

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to accurately perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures and an interruptive environment

  • Completing all company-required training within designated time frames.

 

SLOT ATTENDANT WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, screwdriver and hand-held radios/headsets.

  • Must possess the ability to move effectively and efficiently throughout the slot floor – walking 80%, standing 20% - lifting up to 20 lbs.

  • Exposed to electricity and an environment of varying temperatures

  • Ability to work in a brightly lit, smoked filled casino environment with noise levels.

  • Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Be a customer experience owner, act in ways that will surprise and delight our guests.  Leave guests with positive feelings about our property and establish/maintain relationships with them. Approach each situation with a “yes we can” attitude, every guest every time.

  • Comply with our drug & alcohol free workplace.  Subject to for cause and post-accident drug tests.

 

BARBACK JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, fun, and friendly environment for guests and employees.

  • Provides superior guest service, interacts positively with guests and employees, and has the ability to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions. Works effectively and courteously with fellow employees. 

  • Responsible to assume duties of bartender and cocktail waitress during breaks.

  • Takes drink orders (both alcohol and non-alcoholic), enters orders, serves drinks and collects payment from patrons when filling in for bartender or cocktail server.

  • Safe distribution of alcohol. Follows company alcohol guidelines for serving alcohol responsibly.

  • Follows sound cash handling practices. 

  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers.

  • Responsible to have knowledge of patron limitations on alcohol consumption and company policy and procedure regarding serving alcohol responsibly.

  • Responsible to stock bar items daily.

  • Responsible to fill ice bins as needed.

  • Replace bottles on liquor guns.

  • Empty garbage and mop floors.

  • Maintain and deliver beverage supplies for all other outlets.

  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers.

  • Has a thorough knowledge of all special events and promotional activities.  Assists guests with all reasonable requests.

  • Completes all company-required training within designated time frames. 

 

BARBACK WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, telephone, use of all bar equipment, Micros, cash register, and Easy Bar System.

  • Knowledge of state laws and regulations, gaming laws, and safe handling of alcohol. 

  • Casino environment with exposure to temperatures that vary, noise, smoke and bright lights. 

  • Ability to read, write and understand simple instructions. 

  • May include a boat and/or floating barge and a high-rise hotel.

  • Use of stairs and elevators 

  • Walking/Standing 40%, Bending/Lifting 45% (up to 100 lbs.), Pushing/pulling15% (up to 150lbs.)

  • Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Use of cardboard compactor, and garbage compactor (if over age 18)

  • Be a customer experience owner, act in ways that will surprise and delight our guests.  Leave guests with positive feelings about our property and establish/maintain relationships with them. Approach each situation with a “yes we can” attitude, every guest every time.

  • Comply with our drug & alcohol-free workplace. Subject to post offer, for cause and post-accident drug tests.

  • Knowledge of all bar equipment. Easy Bar System, laws and regulations relating to serving alcohol and gaming. 

  • Ability to perform assigned job duties in an interruptive environment under frequent time pressures.

  • Able to handle situations that may arise due to intoxication of guests. 

  • Ability to communicate with all departments and fellow employees. 

  • Must complete and follow alcohol awareness training and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol.
