The Simulation Logistician serves as the administrative project manager for the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation (CHIPS) and as the central point of contact for all CHIPS experiences. This position provides oversight for multiple, complex simulated experiences as they move through their life cycles. These experiences have a far-reaching impact across the 1UT Health Science Center, ensuring learner objectives are met. CHIPS provides simulation experiences for external customers, community partners, and all the UT Health Science Center colleges including campuses in Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga. The incumbent will analyze simulation experiences and associated data and recommend various courses of action for quality improvement.

  1. Evaluates all requests for simulation and plans simulated experiences according to CHIPS policies and procedures. 
  2. Facilities face-to-face and/or virtual engagement with team members (including key CHIPS staff, faculty of record, and other stakeholders) and reviews project deliverables. Delegates and assigns tasks to associated team members.
  3. Reviews and tracks the progress of all activities associated with a simulated experience. Corresponds with various executives and/or stakeholders regarding circumstances that may impact deliverables or timelines. 
  4. Assists with allocating physical, financial, and human resources for simulated experiences. Ensures project deadlines and anticipated outcomes are met. 
  5. Reviews account receivables contracts and corresponding budgets from external customers to ensure accuracy and compliance with terms and conditions.
  6. Oversees post-event assessments. Evaluates processes and recommends customized solutions to improve simulated experiences. 
  7. Develops project improvement plans to ensure better outcomes for repeating simulation experiences and disseminates this information to key stakeholders. 
  8. Manages and analyzes project data used for accreditation, presentations, and other high-level reports.
  9. Guides and maintains CHIPS online surveys, requests, and assessments, Trello project management platform, and a library of case documentation. 
  10. Oversees and advertises simulated experiences via mass electronic correspondence, local digests, and other modes of communication, as needed. Assists with creating web content, white papers, presentations, etc.
  11. Networks and collaborates with other healthcare simulation programs.
  12. Serves as an ambassador of the UT Health Science Center simulation program in local, regional, and national simulation venues/settings.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
