Job Title: Shipping Clerk (1st Shift) ($24-28/hr.)

Job Description

The Shipping Clerk supports logistics and daily operations by preparing, packaging, labeling, and documenting outgoing shipments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This contract role runs approximately 6–8 weeks, with the possibility of extension or long-term opportunity, and operates on a first-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position is primarily office-based with frequent interaction with the production and warehouse teams to ensure accurate, timely, and well-organized shipments. Responsibilities

  • Support logistics and day-to-day shipping operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work on a computer in an office setting to process and track shipments.
  • Ensure all materials are correctly packaged, labeled, and documented prior to shipment.
  • Prepare, package, and label outgoing domestic shipments for carrier pickup.
  • Verify shipment contents against packing slips, work orders, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with carriers, including LTL, UPS, FedEx, and others, to schedule and confirm pickups.
  • Update shipping information in internal systems and maintain accurate and organized shipping records.
  • Assist with staging finished goods and organizing shipping areas to support efficient workflow.
  • Communicate regularly with production and warehouse teams to prioritize outgoing shipments and meet deadlines.
  • Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while handling freight and shipping materials.

Essential Skills

  • Prior experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and understand packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documents.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and shipment tracking.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar systems for shipping and logistics is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, warehouse, and carrier partners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with LTL, UPS, FedEx, and other common freight carriers.
  • Experience in freight handling and shipping and receiving operations.
  • Comfort working with standardized processes and safety-focused procedures in an industrial setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility that designs and produces heavy equipment attachments and coupler systems for excavators and wheel loaders. Work takes place primarily in an office setting using computers and internal systems to manage shipping data, with regular interaction in adjacent production and warehouse areas where finished goods are staged and prepared for shipment. The environment is fast paced and safety focused, supporting demanding industrial operations across construction, aggregates, steel mills, mining, and industrial applications. Steel-toe boots are required as part of the standard safety attire when in production and warehouse areas, and you will work a consistent first-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
