The Operator II, Shipping/Receiving is responsible for the timely and accurate packaging of customer orders and the timely receipt of incoming packages. The associate functions are mainly comprised of Receiving, Packing, Matching and Feedback duties.
In this role you will:

  • Ensures receipt transaction accuracy by comparing the items received against the items listed on the invoice from vendor
  • Responsible for receiving all materials using receiving software and approved standard work.
  • Responsible for lifting boxes, sorting boxes, and moving pallets with a manual pallet jack. This requires teamwork and team lifts when handling large and/or heavy objects.
  • Responsible for following prescribed safe work habits to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and all co-workers.
  • Responsible for moving pallets of raw materials to designated storage locations across manufacturing operations.
  • Attention to detail is a critical requirement for this role.
  • Average computer stills and typing skills are required for this role.
  • Associate must be dependable and on-time to work on all scheduled workdays.
  • This role may include overtime as demand varies.
Packs Domestic and International customer orders for shipment
  • Ensures order accuracy by comparing the items picked against the items listed on the pick ticket.
  • Responsible for the packaging of items using approved Hach shipping methods.
  • Responsible for the proper selection and usage of packing materials, and the marking and labeling of packages to meet specific carrier requirements and DOT regulations per the pick ticket instructions.
  • Performs the final inspection of packages:  Inspects for proper labeling and transportation documents and inspects Bills of Lading.
Feedback
  • Responsible for the operation of the order feedback system.
  • Responsible for the handling, sorting, placement, labeling and inspection of packages.
All Functions
  • Complies with company safety & housekeeping policies.
  • Participates in a variety of team activities including meetings, project planning and implementation, Kaizens, cross training, and assisting with the training of new employees.

OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS diploma/GED required
  • Six months or more of shipping/receiving experience
  • Possess manual dexterity and good coordination
  • Possess basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Possess proven mechanical ability or aptitude
  • Possess ability to resolve minor problems, recognize normal and unusual situations
  • Ability to learn instrument or circuit board assembly (Loveland only), machine operations (including set up and changeover), and/or kitting.
  • Some areas will require the ability to work with manual and/or power equipment.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess working knowledge of manufacturing processes helpful
