Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Shear + Brake Operator for an on-site position in Odessa, TX. The role involves operating shearing and braking machinery to cut and shape materials following precise specifications. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining equipment, reading drawings and technical documents, inspecting finished products for quality assurance, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. The operator will work closely with team members to meet production deadlines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating CNC equipment, with an understanding of basic machine maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and work orders.
• Knowledge of metal types and gauges, including carbon steel and other materials handled by the company.
• Strong attention to detail, quality control skills, and ability to assess finished components against specifications.
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards and procedures in an industrial setting.
• Willingness to work in an on-site manufacturing environment in Odessa, TX.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in metalworking, machining, or a related field is a plus.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with production staff.
• Previous experience in a steel service center or fabrication environment is preferred but not required.
