Our client is seeking an experienced Payment Services Manager to lead payment operations and payment product management initiatives for a growing financial institution. This role will oversee the execution of payment strategies while ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient day-to-day operations across the organization’s payment ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of operational leadership, product management experience, and strategic thinking to support payment modernization initiatives, operational excellence, and an exceptional customer experience.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with senior leadership to execute payment strategy, roadmap initiatives, and operational priorities
  • Lead and develop teams across payment operations and payment product management functions
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Align payment operations and product initiatives to support scalable, customer-focused solutions

Payment Product Management

  • Oversee payment products and services from implementation through ongoing optimization and lifecycle management
  • Manage vendor relationships, service performance, issue resolution, and contract alignment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Digital, IT, Finance, Risk, Operations, and external partners to support successful delivery of initiatives
  • Support enhancements, emerging payment technologies, and modernization efforts across the payment landscape
  • Lead change management activities related to new products, enhancements, and process improvements

Payment Operations

  • Oversee daily payment operations, including ACH, wires, checks, ATMs, bill pay, P2P/mobile payments, remote deposit capture, and instant payments
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs, service levels, processing accuracy, and reconciliation activities
  • Utilize reporting and analytics to improve operational efficiency and decision-making
  • Ensure audit readiness, policy alignment, compliance adherence, and issue remediation processes are maintained
  • Support fraud prevention, operational controls, and regulatory compliance initiatives


Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 7–10 years of progressive Payment Services experience within a financial institution
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience within financial services
  • Strong understanding of payment operations, payment products, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Experience managing ACH, wires, card services, bill pay, P2P, RDC, and digital payment platforms
  • Knowledge of payment compliance regulations including BSA/AML, OFAC, and related operational controls
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced financial services environments
  • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary $100,000 – $125,000 based on experience
  • Annual bonus eligibility based on performance
