ServiceNow SPM Lead Engineer

We are seeking a ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Lead Software Engineer to lead development efforts using best practices and technical standards. This role partners with Technical Governance, Platform Architecture, and ServiceNow Platform teams to ensure scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

You will support enterprise-level initiatives, including business change management, through development and optimization of ServiceNow SPM modules.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex, enterprise-wide technology initiatives with broad impact
• Configure and customize ServiceNow SPM components using scripting and platform capabilities
• Define and implement engineering standards and best practices for large-scale solutions
• Lead design, development, implementation, and maintenance of application features
• Design, code, test, debug, and document software solutions across projects and programs
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards
• Develop within an Agile framework
• Lead strategic planning and large-scale solution design efforts
• Analyze complex technical environments and business needs to drive solutions
• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and external partners to resolve technical challenges
• Mentor team members and lead project teams

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, or military experience)
• 3+ years of ServiceNow development experience (not administration), including:
• Platform development
• Workflow creation
• System integrations

Must-Have Requirements

• 4–6 years of ServiceNow development experience, specifically with SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management)
• 1–2 years of experience in a lead or senior role
• Experience as a Lead ServiceNow SPM Developer
• CSA (Certified System Administrator) – required
• CAD (Certified Application Developer) – required or must be obtained within 6 months
