Description Summary:
The Sr. Vice President, Global Sales will manage and inspire a workforce across the Americas, Europe and Asia. The individual will be responsible for leading a direct and distributed team of approximately 700 sales, technical and customer support and market development professionals globally. The total annual revenue responsibility for this position is 1.2 Billion USD, and the Sr. Vice President reports to the President of SCIEX and the position is a seed role for the President at Sciex, located in Marlborough, MA. The successful person in this position will also enjoy a substantial opportunity for career development and growth within Danaher, the parent company.
This Vice President, will have responsibility for driving profitable revenue growth. S/he will have the autonomy to drive goals and objectives, measuring and monitoring performance and critically contributing to a holistic strategic and business planning process. S/he will drive results through exceptional leadership skills, consistently championing and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, with an eye on reaching optimum performance on an individual and team basis.

Responsibilities:
The Sr. Vice President, Global Sales has the following responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Build a high-performance commercial organization, including effective change management, on a global basis that is "best in class"
- Provide leadership in measuring and improving performance outcomes through a results-oriented, metric-driven, continuous improvement culture.
- Build regional leadership to ensure they are accountable for and exceed key performance objectives in terms of sales, market share and profitability.
- Develop leaders that drive voice-of-customer across the organization to ensure it is well represented in all management decisions.
- Build a leadership team that ensures best practice sales-standard-work is implemented for sales, technical support and customer service globally.
- Develop direct reports via having active succession plans in place for each leader and coaching them to achieve advancement within their own careers.
Sales strategy & Process Execution:
- Define overall strategy for the sales and technical support functions with short- and long-term plans in place globally to execute strategy.
- Architect the development of commercial strategic initiatives in the annual Strat Plan development.
- Port strategies developed during the Strat Plan over to developing both global and regional-specific commercial capabilities to achieve global growth targets.
- Lead the annual budget process to the Strat Plan P&L to deliver above market growth by product line and geo. Deliver operating margin expansion and operating profit targets.
- Drive rigorous business processes, including a strong focus on daily management using DBS (funnel management, transformative marketing, etc.)
- Establish, review and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures that ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively present and countermeasure business risks.
Commercial and Market-facing:
- Represent & advocate for the voice-of-customer in reviewing on-market solutions, solution gaps, & product innovation roadmap.
- Ensure strong understanding of the marketplace dynamics including competitive and customer trends by market vertical.
- Track competitive market share, win/loss data and architect competitive selling strategies.
- Monitor the scientific and related industry trends, and work with the rest of the executive team to identify new opportunities and enhance business ventures;
- Represent the Sciex executive organization in customer negotiations, trade shows, seminars, conferences and other official occasions.
Candidate Profile
General Requirements:
- Substantial experience within a fast-growing, complex business arena;
- Experience in the medical device, healthcare or life science research industry;
- Substantial experience within a complex selling organization in a high technology and medical product/service sector;
- Successfully managed a large sales organization;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization including sales, service, technical support and business management functions.
Leadership:
- Proven record of building a high performing organization;
- Proven successful record in sales/marketing leadership and staff management, while functioning in a demanding, action-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated strong strategic and analytical skills as well as solid business acumen, experience in profit and loss management and growth achievements;
- Potential for future promotability to a president/general management position.
Commercial:
- Ability to interface with and lead a global sales team to achieve maximum results;
- Extensive experience in developing global sales and commercial marketing strategies;
- Proven ability to develop international pricing and promotional product programs.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business or life sciences technical field, MBA preferred
- 20 years of work experience in sales and technical support, life sciences industry background preferred
- 15 years of increasing management responsibilities
