Job Description

The Senior Vehicle Electronics & Architecture Engineer supports the research, design, development, and integration of electrical power systems and electronic architectures for military ground vehicles. This role works closely with government program offices, integrated product teams, and industry partners to develop advanced vehicle electronic architectures and ensure successful system integration across current and future platforms. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to mission‑critical Army and Marine Corps ground vehicle programs and influence the development of future vehicle electronic architectures on high‑visibility defense initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop electrical power systems and electronic architectures for military ground vehicles.
  • Develop high‑level vehicle electronic architectures that meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with government program offices, integrated product teams, and industry partners to align technical solutions with program objectives.
  • Conduct trade studies and technology assessments to evaluate alternative architectures, components, and technologies.
  • Interpret Department of Defense (DoD) requirements and translate them into system‑level designs and integration plans.
  • Review contractor performance, technical approaches, and deliverables to ensure compliance with requirements and best practices.
  • Support system integration activities, including planning, execution, and troubleshooting of integrated vehicle electronic systems.
  • Participate in and support testing activities for electrical power systems and electronic architectures on ground vehicles.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and architecture descriptions.
  • Develop and deliver technical briefings and presentations to program stakeholders and leadership.
  • Apply project and program management principles to help track progress, manage risks, and support schedule and budget objectives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across Army and Marine Corps ground vehicle programs to ensure alignment of electronic architectures with broader program goals.
Essential Skills
  • Extensive experience in vehicle electronics, vehicle systems, and high‑voltage systems for ground vehicles.
  • Proven expertise in vehicle electronic architecture (VEA) and vetronics.
  • Electrical power systems engineering experience for ground vehicles.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in networked systems engineering.
  • Networked systems engineering skills, including design and integration of complex electronic and communication networks.
  • Ability to interpret and apply DoD requirements to system design and integration activities.
  • Experience with system integration for defense or similar complex platforms.
  • Project or program management experience supporting technical programs.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • C5ISR system integration experience.
  • Experience with Army or Marine Corps ground combat vehicles.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes.
  • Experience supporting Program Executive Office (PEO) or Program Manager (PM) offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with government stakeholders on high‑visibility defense initiatives.
Work Environment

This role is 100% on‑site at a client location, providing daily, in‑person collaboration with government and industry stakeholders. The position supports active Army and/or Marine Corps ground vehicle programs and involves working with advanced vehicle electronics, electrical power systems, and networked architectures in a defense program environment. The role includes approximately 10% travel to customer sites, contractor facilities, and test locations to support integration and testing activities. The work environment is fast‑paced, mission‑focused, and highly collaborative, with regular interaction across integrated product teams and program offices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $77.00/hr.
