The role of Technical Manager, Urban Development (Senior Vice President) involves fulfilling the role of a Senior Program Manager on complex urban development and transportation projects throughout the United States. The role requires experience leading a multi-disciplinary project team in the delivery of challenging comprehensive development projects located at or integrated with major transportation facilities. Experience with and understanding of public and private clients is a must. Moreover, the role requires the ability to think across technical lines, and to generate support for a particular opportunity.
Primary responsibilities include managing the client relationship, leading teams of advisors, planners, engineers, technical experts and support staff, providing technical leadership for planning, environmental documentation, community and stakeholder engagement, conceptual thru detailed design, cost estimating, entitlements, and a variety of other tasks and duties. The role will also include responsibility for budget, schedule, quality and team deliverables, as well as collaboration within project and stakeholder teams and management/coordination with our teams working on the vertical aspects of the development program. Greater emphasis is be placed on the candidate's ability to generate support and create an interactive environment on projects.
The candidate is required to have experience related to the planning and construction elements of urban development and transportation projects, as well as the ability to lead a team of experts. The candidate should also be able to act as a program manager, with the need to step in and self-perform tasks, if necessary, in a fast-paced and potentially critical project environment.
Your Impact:
Manage project teams responsible for a variety of development tasks for transportation and urban development projects requiring independent judgment
Responsible for coordination with the full range of relevant disciplines and related experts, including roadway, transit, structures, building systems/MEP, environmental, geotechnical, traffic, electrical, storm drainage, utilities, right of way, building architects, public realm/landscape designers, and other disciplines
Responsible for preparation of project reports, plans, specifications, and estimate bid packages
Ensure that production of reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
Interact with clients, and lead technical meetings
Lead others and supervise the production of junior and mid-level staff, associated with specific projects
Other duties as assigned

Compensation:
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $250,000 - $275,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
