Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization focused on financial market integrity and investor protection, is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator.

Position Summary:

The Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer operates with minimal supervision to design, implement, and maintain enterprise Windows infrastructure across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. This role blends traditional systems administration with modern DevOps practices, leveraging virtualization technologies, multi-cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and emerging AI-driven tools to enhance system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

What type of experience the right candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration within enterprise or production environments
  • Strong expertise in Windows systems, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and hybrid cloud (AWS/Azure)
  • Experience with monitoring/diagnostic tools, scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.), and networking technologies
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation, and AI-assisted operational tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What are the responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Windows infrastructure across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments
  • Architect and manage virtualized systems using VMware and Hyper-V
  • Build and support cloud solutions across AWS and Azure following cloud-native principles
  • Ensure system reliability, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring and automation
  • Implement and optimize monitoring tools, including AI-driven observability and predictive analytics
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts across systems, cloud platforms, and network environments
  • Enforce security controls and compliance standards using zero-trust principles
  • Support disaster recovery (DR), business continuity (BCP), and compliance testing (e.g., SOX)
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to align infrastructure with business goals
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to infrastructure and operations
