A stable, long-established distribution company is hiring a Windows Systems Administrator to support and maintain its core IT infrastructure at its Memphis headquarters.
This role is ideal for someone who is strong in Windows environments but still enjoys staying connected to networking. You will primarily focus on Windows Server, Active Directory, and core infrastructure, while also supporting light network administration across office, warehouse, and manufacturing operations.
You will work alongside the internal IT lead and collaborate with an external IT partner that manages advanced cloud and enterprise systems, allowing you to take ownership of the on-premise Windows environment with some involvement in networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
- Administer and support Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365
- Maintain system performance, patching, and security across servers and endpoints
- Support virtualization environments and core infrastructure services
- Assist with basic network administration including switch management, VLAN updates, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and network-related issues
- Provide Level 2 end-user support for desktop, server, and connectivity issues
Technical Environment
- Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022)
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Microsoft 365 and Azure AD
- Virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware)
- Basic Layer 2 networking including VLANs, switching, and troubleshooting
- Ubiquiti networking equipment
What They Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Windows systems administration or engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
- Comfortable supporting basic networking concepts such as VLANs and switch configuration
- Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred
- Ability to take ownership of on-premise infrastructure while collaborating with external partners
