Senior Survey Technician

Employment & Training Centers, Inc. is partnering with a respected multidisciplinary engineering and land surveying firm in the Greater Houston area to hire an experienced Senior Survey Technician. This role supports a variety of boundary, right-of-way, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS land title survey projects across commercial, energy, municipal, and transportation sectors.

Key Details:
- Provide office-based technical support for land surveying and engineering projects
- Draft and process survey data using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepare and review boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic surveys, and control surveys
- Interpret legal descriptions, field data, survey calculations, and technical documents
- Process survey data and perform quality checks using Trimble Business Center
- Assist with right-of-way and easement preparation
- Maintain and improve CAD standards, block libraries, symbols, and automated tools
- Incorporate client templates into field-to-finish workflows
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior survey technicians
- Work with advanced technologies including laser scanning, photogrammetry, drone data, and LiDAR processing
- Familiarity with deliverables for the commercial, energy, municipal, and transportation markets, especially TxDOT, City of Houston, Harris County and surrounding county engineering standards, and CenterPoint Energy, including ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic surveys, and control surveys.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of office experience in land surveying applications, preferably with field experience.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D in a surveying environment
- Strong understanding of survey calculations and boundary analysis
- Ability to interpret legal descriptions and technical documents
- Experience producing survey deliverables in a deadline-driven production environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Desirable Additional Skills:
- Experience with Trimble Business Center
- Familiarity with right-of-way and easement preparation
- Exposure to transportation, flood control, Chapter 2, 811 requests and civil infrastructure projects
- Field experience supporting survey crews
- Experience in terrestrial laser scan, photogrammetry, and/or aerial lidar processing and extraction.
- Familiarity with laser scanning or drone-based survey technologies
- Proficient in MicroStation and Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro
- CST Certification
