Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with a strong background in job costing and general ledger accounting to join our accounting team. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and supporting the integrity of our month-end close process. The position requires a solid understanding of cost allocations, inventory processes, general ledger reconciliation, and project-based accounting. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform and/or review monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Conduct monthly and quarterly general ledger account reconciliations
- Review and post journal entries and supporting schedules for month-end close activities
- Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, including warehouse and job site inventory
- Allocate material costs appropriately to jobs
- Maintain inventory balances and process write-offs for obsolete or excess materials
- Ensure all job-related POs are properly recorded and coded
- Reclassify direct costs with missing job numbers to maintain clean project financials
- Move and validate job-related expenses into direct costs with accurate coding
- Monitor and maintain accurate tracking of project costs across labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment
- Review and record monthly and quarterly subcontractor accruals
- Perform job reconciliations to confirm alignment between costs, billings, and budgets
- Provide documentation for internal and external audits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or project-based environments
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, job costing, and subcontractor billing practices
- Proficient with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, Procore, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Strong aptitude to learn and use emerging technologies such as AI, Power Automate, SharePoint Design, Power Query, Power BI.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $99,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, relevant experience, internal equity, and market data.
