Position Description:
The Senior Solutions Engineer owns end-to-end delivery of banking and financial technology solutions from business problem definition through design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production stabilization. Combines lead business analyst and lead developer responsibilities to analyze business needs, engineer scalable and compliant solutions, and partner with business, operations, risk, compliance, audit, and technology stakeholders to improve efficiency, controls, and customer outcomes in regulated financial environments.
Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own full lifecycle delivery of banking and financial solutions, including business analysis, requirements definition, solution architecture, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Serve as the single accountable lead from solution ideation through production stabilization.
- Lead discovery sessions with business, operations, compliance, risk, and audit stakeholders to analyze current-state processes and systems and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Define future-state processes aligned with regulatory, operational, and business needs.
- Produce high-quality business and functional requirements, process flows, data flows, system interaction diagrams, and control and compliance documentation.
- Serve as lead developer and contribute hands-on technical solutions, including applications, integrations, automations, and workflow solutions using modern low-code development practices.
- Ensure solutions meet banking security standards, regulatory and compliance requirements, and expectations for performance, scalability, and resiliency.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers and analysts as needed.
- Design solutions with embedded controls that support auditability, data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance including SOX, SOC, and internal control requirements.
- Partner with risk, compliance, and audit teams throughout delivery to ensure adherence to banking standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and information technology leadership.
- Translate business needs into practical, implementable technical solutions.
- Lead solution reviews, design walkthroughs, and delivery checkpoints.
- Support change management, training, and user adoption efforts.

It’s an important role that covers many skills. This position requires:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience delivering information technology solutions in banking, financial services, or similarly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience acting as both lead business analyst and lead developer on enterprise solutions.
- Experience with low-code application development, process engineering and automation, data integration, and workflow design.
- Deep understanding of banking operations, controls, and compliance expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solution design skills.
- Ability to operate independently in complex environments with high accountability and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience with core banking platforms, loan systems, or financial operations systems.
- Experience with enterprise integrations and APIs.
- Experience with low-code workflow and automation platforms such as Nintex or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience with cloud or hybrid architectures.
- Familiarity with audit, risk, and regulatory review processes within financial institutions.
- Experience in mentoring small delivery teams.
