Senior Software Engineer - San Francisco, CA (Onsite)

I’m hiring right now for a YC-backed AI startup building AI-powered voice and communication agents for the financial services industry. Their platform automates outbound calls, SMS, WhatsApp, and email interactions using generative AI to help banks, lenders, and insurance companies improve customer engagement, increase recovery rates, and maintain compliance at scale.

They’re seeking engineers who love building from the ground up and want to operate in a high-ownership, fast-moving environment. The ideal profile is someone with strong backend and infrastructure fundamentals, a product-minded approach to engineering, and the ability to move quickly while solving complex technical problems alongside a highly ambitious team.

What they’re looking for:

• Strong backend or infrastructure engineering experience
• 3-7 years of professional software engineering experience
• Hands-on builder mentality with a bias toward execution
• Experience working with TypeScript and/or Python
• Comfortable operating in high-intensity startup environments
• Ability to take ownership of systems and deliver end-to-end solutions
• Experience in financial services or voice/conversational AI is a bonus

Important details:

• Fully onsite in San Francisco (6-days onsite)
• $150k-$210k base + meaningful equity
