Senior Software Engineer- DO178

Leach International, a TransDigm Business Unit, is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join a small embedded software verification team supporting safety-critical aerospace power distribution and protection systems.

Leach designs and manufactures high-reliability electrical power control and distribution components used in aerospace and defence applications where system performance and reliability are critical. These are engineered products used in flight-critical environments, requiring strict compliance, verification discipline, and certification rigor.

This role focuses on embedded software verification within a DO-178C environment, working closely with design engineering, hardware engineering, and certification stakeholders to ensure software meets airworthiness and qualification requirements.

The role is primarily software-focused, but sits at the intersection of software, hardware, and systems integration. You will gain exposure to embedded systems interacting directly with electrical hardware, including both low and high voltage environments. Candidates with strong software backgrounds will be trained on hardware testing and integration.

Primary Responsibilities as a Sr Software Engineer:

• Develop and execute software verification plans in accordance with RTCA/DO-178C requirements
• Perform verification testing of embedded software used in aerospace power distribution systems
• Document test execution results and produce formal verification deliverables, including Software Verification Reports (SVR)
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and design engineering teams across the full development lifecycle

Basic Qualifications of the Sr Software Engineer:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in embedded C software verification within aerospace or safety-critical environments
• Experience with Python for automation, testing, or verification support
• Strong understanding of structured software development and verification processes
