Employment Type: 3-month Contract (W-2 or 1099/IC)
Compensation: Up to $77/hour W-2 or up to $86/hour 1099/IC (depending on experience)

This senior, hands-on ServiceNow Developer / Implementer will build, enhance, and support ServiceNow capabilities in an active enterprise environment. Success in this role means quickly understanding operational needs, delivering secure and maintainable platform configurations and automations, and resolving defects and integration issues with minimal ramp-up. You will partner with stakeholders to move changes from design through testing and deployment while keeping documentation current and production stable.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ServiceNow solutions across core ITSM processes including Incident, Change, Problem, Request, and Service Catalog.
- Build and maintain automations using Flow Designer and/or Workflow to streamline request fulfillment and operational processes.
- Design and implement scripted functionality using JavaScript and the Glide API to meet business requirements while following platform best practices.
- Configure and support ServiceNow artifacts such as Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and Catalog Items.
- Administer platform security by managing users, groups, roles, ACLs, and permissions aligned to role-based access control and least-privilege principles.
- Build, troubleshoot, and support REST and SOAP integrations, resolving data mapping issues, authentication errors, and automation defects.
- Diagnose and resolve platform defects and operational issues, performing root-cause analysis and driving fixes through to production.
- Plan and execute validation activities including unit, regression, and integration testing; support UAT and coordinate release readiness.
- Manage configuration and deployment activities across development, test, and production environments, including upgrade/patch impact validation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as implementation notes, SOPs, and workflow/process documentation to support ongoing operations.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, implementation, and administration experience delivering configured and scripted solutions.
- Strong ITSM experience including Incident, Change, Problem, Request, and Service Catalog implementation and support.
- Hands-on experience building ServiceNow automation using Flow Designer and/or Workflow, including troubleshooting automation failures.
- Strong JavaScript and Glide API experience within ServiceNow.
- Experience developing and configuring Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and Catalog Items.
- Experience administering users, groups, roles, ACLs, and permissions using role-based access control and least-privilege practices.
- REST and SOAP integration experience, including diagnosing integration failures, data issues, and automation defects.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CMDB configuration and operational use.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and related data quality practices.
- ServiceNow certifications such as CSA and/or CAD.
- ITIL Foundation or other ITIL certification, with working knowledge of ITSM processes.
- Experience supporting federal government, healthcare, public sector, or large enterprise ServiceNow environments.
- Experience executing and supporting testing activities (unit, regression, integration) and UAT coordination.
- Experience producing technical documentation including SOPs, workflow documentation, and implementation notes.
- Experience configuring ServiceNow forms, tables, views, and related platform settings.
- Experience providing Tier II/III production support, including platform troubleshooting and operational issue resolution.
- Experience supporting deployments across dev/test/prod, including upgrade/patch validation and release coordination.
