One of our leading client is looking for a Senior RPG Software Developer in Cincinnati OH (onsite).

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior RPG Software Developer to join our in‑house technology team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting business‑critical applications built using RPG on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and IT stakeholders in an on‑site environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain RPG applications supporting core business operations
Work with legacy RPG (RPG III/IV) as well as modern RPG (ILE / FreeForm RPG) codebases
Visual RPG ASNA maintenance of legacy systems
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner
Participate in system modernization initiatives, integrations, and performance tuning
Collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and business users onsite
Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards
Support production systems and participate in on‑call or scheduled support as needed

Required Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience developing applications using RPG on IBM i
Strong experience with RPG IV / ILE RPG, CL, and DB2 for i
Proven experience working with legacy systems and modernizing existing codebases
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in an on‑site team environment
Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite
