Senior Recruitment Consultant – Power & Energy Practice

Location: Orlando, Florida

Schedule: 4 days in-office, 1 day WFH

Start Date: Q2/Q3

Compensation: $50-65,000 DOE + uncapped commission

Build a permanent Power desk in one of the most in-demand energy markets in the U.S.

Spencer Ogden’s Orlando Power & Energy Practice is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our permanent recruitment team.

This is a true 360 recruitment role with a strong focus on business development. You’ll be joining a market with huge long-term potential, but this is not a role where you are simply inheriting a desk full of live jobs. We’re looking for someone who is excited by the challenge of building client relationships, creating new business, and growing a profitable desk from the ground up.

You’ll focus on the Power sector, supporting clients who are designing, developing, modernizing, and maintaining the infrastructure behind America’s energy future.

You’ll recruit across areas such as:

  • Transmission & Distribution
  • Power Generation
  • Grid Modernization
  • Substation Engineering
  • Protection & Controls
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Distribution Planning
  • Transmission Planning
  • Renewable Power Infrastructure

You’ll work with utilities, engineering consultancies, developers, EPCs, and energy businesses hiring the technical specialists needed to support demand across the power market.

What You’ll Do

  • Build new client relationships across the Power & Energy market
  • Identify target accounts and create business opportunities from scratch
  • Pitch Spencer Ogden’s services to utilities, consultancies, developers, EPCs, and energy businesses
  • Win permanent recruitment mandates and negotiate terms
  • Source, headhunt, and manage mid-to-senior technical candidates
  • Recruit across engineering, planning, design, project delivery, and leadership roles
  • Manage the full recruitment process from business development through to placement
  • Build deep market expertise across grid, utilities, transmission, distribution, and renewable power infrastructure
  • Own your desk, revenue, and client relationships

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 1.5+ years of recruitment experience
  • Proven business development experience within recruitment
  • Experience in engineering, energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, construction, or another technical market ideal
  • Strong confidence with outreach, pitching, cold calling, and client development
  • Ability to generate new business and build relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Strong candidate delivery skills once mandates are won
  • Commercial awareness, resilience, and strong communication skills
  • A competitive, financially motivated approach
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization

You do not need to have recruited in Power specifically, but you should be confident in a sales-led recruitment environment and motivated by building a desk, winning clients, and creating your own revenue.

Why Join Spencer Ogden?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a high-potential market with the support of a global specialist recruitment business behind you.

You’ll benefit from:

  • A true 360 role with clear ownership of your market
  • The opportunity to build a permanent Power desk in Orlando
  • High-demand technical markets across utilities, engineering, infrastructure, and renewables
  • Strong long-term growth potential across the U.S. Power sector
  • High-value permanent mandates once client relationships are established
  • Uncapped commission with no draw and no cap
  • Commission up to 40% of deals billed
  • Medical, dental, and vision fully covered
  • Retirement plans
  • Structured training and clear progression
  • Global mobility opportunities across 11 offices
  • A high-energy, ambitious, financially motivated team culture
