Schedule: 4 days in-office, 1-day WFH

Start Date: Q2/Q3

Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 base DOE + uncapped commission

Join a Finance desk with real momentum.

Spencer Ogden’s New York Finance Practice is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join one of the highest-potential desks in our North America business.

This is not a cold-start opportunity.

You’ll be joining a specialist Finance & Private Capital desk with $1.75 millions of live business already on the desk, partnering with some of the biggest clients in the Energy & Infrastructure space, including Private Equity funds, Investment Banks, Asset Managers, Developers, Energy-Tech businesses, and Infrastructure platforms.

Average fee sizes on the desk are typically $50,000–$60,000, with exposure to senior, high-value mandates across the market. This gives you the opportunity to generate meaningful revenue and commission quickly, while building a long-term book of business in a niche with serious earning potential.

Our focus is clear: we place finance professionals into the sectors shaping the future of energy, infrastructure, and investment. From Renewable Energy and Digital Infrastructure to Power Generation, Transportation, and Energy Transition, you’ll be working with clients building and financing the future.

This is a 360-recruitment role, but the initial focus will be delivery-led, giving you a strong ramp-up period before moving into full business development. You’ll have the opportunity to work live mandates, build market knowledge, generate revenue, and then progressively develop your own client base as you establish yourself on the desk.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering on Live Business

You’ll start by working directly on active mandates across the Finance & Private Capital market. This includes sourcing, headhunting, and managing mid-to-senior finance professionals across permanent roles.

You’ll be speaking with candidates across areas such as:

  • Project Finance
  • Corporate Finance
  • Investment & M&A
  • FP&A
  • Asset Management
  • CFO and senior finance leadership
  • Real Assets and Infrastructure Finance

You’ll manage the full recruitment process from first outreach through to interview, offer, close, and placement.

Building Market Expertise

You’ll become a true specialist in Finance recruitment across Energy & Infrastructure. This means understanding investment trends, hiring demand, project pipelines, and the key companies and funds driving the market forward.

You’ll be expected to provide real market insight to both candidates and clients, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor rather than a transactional recruiter.

Growing Into Business Development

While the desk has significant live business and a strong delivery ramp-up, this is still a sales role.

As you build confidence in the market, you’ll move into client development, including pitching new business, re-engaging existing relationships, negotiating fees, and building your own profitable client portfolio.

You’ll have the opportunity to speak with CFOs, investment leaders, hiring managers, and senior decision-makers across some of the biggest and most active clients in the Energy & Infrastructure space.

Long-Term Progression

For the right person, there is also a clear path to step into more responsibility as the New York Finance team continues to scale. This could include mentoring junior consultants, own key client accounts, and helping shape the growth of the practice.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 1.5+ years of recruitment experience, ideally within finance, accounting, technical, professional services, energy, infrastructure, or another specialist market
  • Experience working permanent recruitment roles
  • Strong candidate delivery skills and the ability to manage active mandates
  • A genuine sales mindset and interest in developing business
  • Confidence speaking with senior candidates and stakeholders
  • Strong communication, resilience, and commercial awareness
  • A competitive, financially motivated approach
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization

Finance or Accounting recruitment experience would be ideal, but we are open to recruiters from other technical or specialist markets who can demonstrate strong billing potential and a desire to move into a high-value niche.
