Senior Quality Engineer - Consumer Electronics

We’re working with a design forward consumer electronics company that operates across direct to consumer, retail, and marketplace channels. They’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to own product quality at a systems level and serve as a key partner to engineering, operations, and manufacturing.


This role sits at the intersection of quality, data, and compliance. You’ll lead how product performance is tracked in-market, identify trends, and drive improvements across the product lifecycle while ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards.


This is a full time, permanent position onsite in Brooklyn, NY (Dumbo).


Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the company’s quality systems and reporting infrastructure, acting as the central source of truth for product performance
  • Analyze customer experience data, returns, and failure trends to identify root causes and inform engineering priorities
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering and operations to prioritize and drive product improvements
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with applicable regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, etc.)
  • Lead regulatory filings and ensure compliance across global markets, including environmental and sustainability requirements
  • Manage supplier quality programs, including audits, scorecards, and performance tracking
  • Oversee validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure all testing and documentation are audit-ready
  • Own reliability and lifecycle testing programs to ensure long-term product durability
  • Manage product documentation, change control, and lifecycle systems (PLM)
  • Lead risk management efforts, including FMEA and related documentation


Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Engineering or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality systems, or regulatory engineering within consumer products or hardware
  • Experience working with global manufacturers and suppliers in high volume production environments
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820) and ISO standards (13485, 9001)
  • Hands-on experience with quality data analysis and tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and product development lifecycles
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and communicate risk to cross-functional stakeholders


Nice to Have Skills:

  • Solidworks CAD experience
  • Experience with motors
  • Experience with IPX rated products that require defense against moisture ingress
  • Experience with FDA, ADA, WERC account ownership
