Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for a hybrid (primarily remote) contract-to-hire opportunity. This individual will manage a portfolio of complex projects aligned to departmental and organizational strategic goals, with a strong focus on process improvement and change management. This role will also serve as a consultant on cross-functional initiatives that leverage departmental expertise.


Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational strategic goals.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics while conducting needs analyses to support institutional priorities.
  • Identify key stakeholders, assemble project teams, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans including work breakdown structures, timelines, roles, and resource planning.
  • Secure project approvals, determine resource availability, manage budgets, and track overall project progress.
  • Lead project execution from initiation through closure, including risk identification, issue mitigation, and status reporting.
  • Communicate project objectives, milestones, and overall project health to stakeholders and project sponsors.
  • Facilitate meetings, gather input, and ensure alignment across departments and teams.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations, document lessons learned, and present outcomes and recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain and archive project documentation and ensure outcomes align with intended goals and impact.


Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management, quality improvement, or process improvement experience.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Experience with PMBOK methodologies, project charters, work plans, budgets, and risk management principles.
  • Experience with change management principles and quality improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Healthcare or research environment experience preferred.
  • Business Analysis experience preferred.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CAPM, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
