Senior Agile Project Manager – Financial & Technology Risk

Hybrid | Tysons, VA - (4 Days in office per week)

$200K–$250K Total Compensation


Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a mission‑driven, nationally recognized organization operating at the intersection of financial services, technology risk, and critical infrastructure resilience on a Senior Agile Program Manager search.


This role supports a high‑visibility Financial Risk function working closely with senior leaders across major financial institutions and regulatory stakeholders. The organization is seeking an experienced Program / Project Manager who can shepherd complex initiatives, keep teams aligned, and drive execution in a fast‑paced, stakeholder‑heavy environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Translate strategic objectives into detailed workplans, timelines, and task ownership
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, including dependencies, risks, and delivery milestones
  • Develop and maintain program schedules, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps
  • Deliver concise, executive‑level updates on project status, risks, and outcomes
  • Establish execution governance, cadence, and reporting mechanisms
  • Facilitate stand‑ups, execution reviews, and decision forums
  • Coordinate governance materials, stakeholder decks, and industry‑facing documentation
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure aligned execution
  • Proactively surface and escalate risks that could impact delivery
  • Coach and guide peers while delivering against defined KPIs and program objectives


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of Project or Program Management experience (Financial Services preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience operating in high‑profile, stakeholder‑rich environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with executive presence
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize critical workstreams
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and tight timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive alignment and resolve conflict
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and discretion handling sensitive information
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required (no exceptions)
