Title: Project Manager / Medical Device Safety Consultant (Contract)

Location: Silicon Valley / South SF Bay Area (Onsite)

Duration: 2–3 Month Contract

Overview

Seeking an experienced Project Manager with medical device safety exposure to support preparation and execution of safety and compliance efforts for a large medical device. This role is highly collaborative and hands-on from a coordination standpoint, working with multidisciplinary engineering teams to expedite critical safety-related work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project efforts related to medical device safety and compliance
  • Work with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams
  • Manage preparation activities for safety and regulatory testing
  • Help guide teams toward compliance with applicable medical device standards
  • Drive communication and accountability across contributors who may not be direct reports
  • Track progress, risks, and issues related to device safety readiness

Required / Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects related to medical device safety
  • Familiarity with medical device standards (e.g., ISO 60601)
  • Understanding of electrical isolation concepts for patient and operator safety
  • Background working with complex devices involving multiple circuit boards and cabling
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, urgent environment
  • Project Management experience preferred; Safety Engineers with PM experience considered
  • BSEE or related technical degree preferred
