Senior Production Planner Buyer (Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing)

The Senior Production Planner Buyer is responsible for planning and executing sales order demands through manufacturing and purchasing. Interacts with program management, Engineering, and Production departments to understand material and demand requirements.

  • Provides production status updates to management and closely monitors the production process to ensure plans are completed on time.
  • Plan, analyze, and execute all the material requirements for various electromechanical assemblies and harnesses, PCB assemblies, and custom fabrications
  • Responsible for building and fostering supplier relationships to ensure that completion deadlines are met with the master sales forecasts or customer orders
  • Using data and systems, manage inventory levels to maximize manufacturing production plans
  • Review and coordinate MRP/ERP suggestions to support CTP schedules.
  • Partner with the other Buyers and Planners to create purchase orders to support requirements and production goals
  • Responsible for expediting highly critical supplier orders that can have a significant delay and/or financial loss to the business, resulting from unforeseen conditions
  • Coordinates and Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department, and the warehouse on material shortages and production planning issues to achieve schedules.
  • Maintain inventory and planning parameters for material in the ERP database to establish and manage inventory targets
  • Using available data, prepare procurement reports for the management team
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Business, or equivalent preferred
  • CPIM highly desirable
  • 3+ years of experience in Production purchasing and/or planning and MRP in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years in procurement and managing strategic purchases with a proven record of improvement
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder for authorized access to controlled technology/data, as subject to ITAR


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient user of MS Office Suite, Teams, and Asana
  • Proficient user of uniPoint, ERP, MRP, and Adobe
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize
