Senior Product Manager - Finance and Accounting
Company Description/Details
An e-commerce entrepreneur and the largest platform for authenticated luxury resale in the United States, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the foundational transformation of our Finance and Accounting technology. This is a high impact, 0to1 opportunity for a Senior PM who excels at turning ambiguity into a concrete, scalable roadmap. In this role, you won’t just be maintaining systems; you will be spearheading in partnership with Engineering, Security, Internal Audit, and the GPM the definition of a new technical vision, uplifting our financial infrastructure from the ground up.
Working in close partnership with the Group Product Manager, you will be the primary driver in translating high-level goals into a comprehensive 12-24-month product roadmap. You will bring clarity to the domain, manage day-to-day scrum execution, and partner closely with other product squads on dependencies to ensure smooth enterprise execution.
Important Details:
  • Employment Type - Contract
  • Duration - 6 months to begin with
  • Location - San Francisco, CA
  • Pay Range - $60.00 - 64.00
Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Definition: Partner with the GPM to build a roadmap that achieves North Star objectives; take the lead in defining product initiatives for an under-supported domain.
Delivery & Scope: Support the Finance & Accounting product team by building and maintaining a roadmap that includes long-range initiatives and delivers complex projects.
Master the Backlog: Define detailed product requirements, technical user stories, and clear acceptance criteria, ensuring the engineering team has the clarity needed to execute at pace.
Collaboration & Influence: Act as the primary technical partner for Engineering, Accounting, Finance, and Internal Audit for alignment on outcomes and problem statements.
Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to "uplift" legacy or manual processes, replacing them with automated solutions for general ledger management, order management, revenue recognition, and SOC reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of Product Management experience, specifically managing financial or back-office technology. Proven experience in 0-to-1 product development or significantly modernizing existing technical infrastructure.
  • Operational Grit: You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously. You take full ownership of translating strategic direction into granular user stories.
  • Data-Driven Prioritization: Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to justify roadmap trade-offs and measure the success of internal tools.
  • Strategic Communication: Ability to effectively communicate clear priorities and the why behind complex subjects to all stakeholders.
  • Ambiguity & Autonomy: Highly motivated self-starter who works independently; you excel at bringing order to "blank slate" environments.
  • Agile Proficiency: Deep experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Agile ceremonies; you know how to keep a development team focused and unblocked.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
System Expertise: Hands-on experience with Stripe, NetSuite, or similar billing and ERP systems within an e-commerce context.
Domain Knowledge: Understanding of Order Management Systems (OMS) and their integration with financial reporting.
Compliance Mindset: Prior experience working with Internal Audit or Security teams to implement financial controls.
