Location: Manhattan - New York City, NY

Work Model: Hybrid (onsite 1x/week: Tue, Weds, or Thu)

Duration: 6 months contract, potential extend/convert

Functions: Marketing, Product & Design

Target Rate: $50/hour


Job Summary

We are building the next generation of digital products in a regulated, data‑rich environment and are seeking a Senior Product Designer to own critical end‑to‑end customer experiences, including a major enterprise initiative and purchase workflows. This is a hands‑on role partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Data/ML, Content, Legal, Compliance, and Accessibility teams in an agile delivery model.


Responsibilities

  • Lead design for complex workflows from discovery through production
  • Translate customer and business needs into clear UX outcomes, user flows, and high‑fidelity designs
  • Deliver wireframes, UI, prototypes, and detailed specs ahead of development
  • Partner daily with Product and Engineering on sprint planning, discovery, and delivery
  • Support build through design QA and implementation reviews
  • Design compliant, accessible, and trustworthy experiences in regulated environments
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify friction and prioritize improvements
  • Plan and conduct usability testing; define and track success metrics post‑launch
  • Design AI‑enabled experiences (e.g., intelligent search, summarization, guided tasks) with strong privacy, transparency, and human‑in‑the‑loop patterns
  • Contribute to design systems, critique, and team craft standards


Must‑Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of digital product design experience with a portfolio and case studies
  • Strong UX, interaction, and visual design skills
  • Proven experience designing complex, workflow‑driven or self‑service products
  • Expertise in Figma and modern prototyping tools
  • Agile collaboration with Engineering from discovery through release
  • Research‑ and data‑driven decision making
  • Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills
  • Accessibility knowledge (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
  • Experience designing AI‑powered or automated features with Responsible AI and privacy‑by‑design principles


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, insurance, healthcare)
  • Partnership with Legal, Compliance, or Risk teams
  • A/B testing, experimentation, or personalization experience
  • Hands‑on experience with generative AI in production environments


Education

Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Fine Arts, or equivalent practical experience
