Senior Process Engineer, Batch Chemical Scale-Up (West Haven, CT)

Pave Talent
West Haven, CT

Scaling batch chemistry from pilot to commercial volume is a once-in-a-career problem. This role is that problem.

𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁, a publicly traded specialty electronics materials company (NYSE-listed) commercializing a first-to-market copper-based platform. The technology is patent-backed, headed into advanced semiconductor packaging, EV power electronics, and AI infrastructure, and it has never shipped commercially at scale. West Haven is the medium-scale manufacturing site being built to change that.

Leadership has authorized roughly $150 million in capital expansion across multiple U.S. sites. The West Haven build-out is fully greenlit and moving fast.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲

If you are good at what you do, you already know the trap: a mature plant with defined processes, incremental improvement projects, and a promotion timeline measured in years. You get comfortable. You stop building.

This role is the alternative. You are joining a medium-scale manufacturing site that is being stood up now, writing the SOPs the next decade of operations will run on. The batch chemistry you validate and the processes you scale become the institutional baseline for the platform. There is no incumbent process to inherit. The hiring manager put it plainly: the people who get in now will define how this is done.

The company behind this has the stability of a large public corporation and the urgency of a startup that has never shipped this product commercially. That combination is rare.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

You will join the West Haven site as a senior individual contributor and one of the first process engineers on the ground. You report into the engineering leadership team and work alongside operations and maintenance on a site that is in active build-out. The problems here are real, fast-moving, and yours to solve.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗢𝘄𝗻

- Write the SOPs and batch validation documentation the West Haven site will run on for the next decade. Your work becomes the institutional knowledge for the platform.

- Statistical Process Control oversight across critical processes: identify out-of-control events, conduct root cause analysis, drive corrective action, and defend periodic statistical reports.

- NCMR closeout with root cause discipline that prevents repeat occurrence, not just paperwork closure.

- Pilot-to-commercial manufacturing transition, including process documentation, batch validation, and operator training.

- Capital Projects leadership across process engineering scope, including Management of Change coordination with Maintenance and Production.

- Secondary EHS support: waste-management shipment coordination, permit compliance, internal and external audit participation, and EHS systems validation.

- Equipment and instrumentation calibration program execution.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸

West Haven is a site that is being built right now. There is no mature process waiting for you. The first months will be hands-on and sometimes ambiguous. You are defining what good looks like, not optimizing it. If you need a clean, established environment to do your best work, this is probably not the right fit. If you want to be the person who built it, keep reading.
