Impact

We are hiring for a senior Primavera P6 Administrator to support a highly regulated technical environment at Los Alamos. This is not a standard scheduler opening. The team needs someone who understands the administrative and backend side of Primavera P6, can support users in a secure environment, and is comfortable working in a setting where some work must be performed onsite to access restricted networks.

This has been a difficult role to fill because the need is very specific: strong P6 administration, real system-side ownership, and the ability to operate effectively in a secure, documentation-heavy environment.

If your background is more than just end-user scheduling — and you have actually supported, configured, maintained, or governed a Primavera environment — this is the kind of role worth a closer look.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Administer and support the Primavera P6 environment in a secure technical setting
  • Provide hands-on support for the backend / systems side of P6, not just front-end scheduling use
  • Maintain and support an Oracle-based Primavera environment
  • Help ensure reliable onsite support for work tied to restricted network access
  • Support project controls and scheduling teams using P6 across the organization
  • Assist with system configuration, user support, access/security-related administration, and overall environment health
  • Work closely with stakeholders to keep P6 operations stable, usable, and aligned to program needs
  • Contribute to process consistency, scheduling governance, and long-term system support

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Primavera P6 administration
  • Experience supporting the system/backend side of P6 in an enterprise or multi-user environment
  • Solid understanding of project controls, scheduling, or enterprise planning environments
  • Experience with Oracle-based Primavera environments
  • Ability to work onsite as needed to support restricted network access
  • Senior-level judgment and the ability to work with limited ramp-up time
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with technical and operations stakeholders

Desired Skills

  • Active DOE Q clearance
  • Prior experience in a DOE, national laboratory, nuclear, defense, or other highly regulated environment
  • Experience supporting P6 in a secure or classified setting
  • Primavera-related certifications
  • PMP or similar project controls credentials

Why this role stands out

  • Long-running need with strong visibility and urgency
  • Meaningful work in a highly technical environment
  • Flexible structure with rotational onsite possibilities
  • Per diem support available
  • Strong likelihood of extension beyond the initial year
  • Opportunity to step into a role where your P6 admin expertise will be genuinely valued

Ideal background

Candidates who tend to be a strong fit for this role often come from backgrounds such as:

  • Primavera P6 Administrator
  • Primavera Systems Administrator
  • Oracle Primavera Administrator
  • Project Controls Systems Administrator
  • Senior Scheduler with enterprise P6 admin ownership
  • PMIS / enterprise scheduling administrator
  • Primavera consultant with deep admin and support experience

Apply if

  • You’ve been the person others rely on for the real workings of Primavera P6 — administration, setup, support, troubleshooting, system-side ownership — and you are open to supporting a secure onsite environment in New Mexico.
