Navy Federal’s OCI Platform Engineering Team fosters a collaborative environment and is building a best-in-class team that manages, enhances, and protects Navy Federal information and its Oracle Cloud and Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux server environments.
As a Platform Engineer, you are expected to be a subject matter expert with hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud, tools, methodologies, and automation. This role is suited for an experienced Engineer with proven understanding of Windows Server management best practices and will focus on supporting and improving Navy Federal’s Oracle Cloud environment. Experience with Linux is beneficial but not required.
- Manage IaaS and PaaS resources on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Stand up and manage cloud database services such as Autonomous Database (ATP DB) and Autonomous Datawarehouse (ADW) on OCI
- Administer, Set-up and Manage Oracle PaaS services such as Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle FAW, ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) Marketplace
- Set-up and Manage Jump Servers, SFTP Servers on OCI
- Configure and manage VCN, Subnets, Routing rules on OCI
- Instantiate, apply regular patches and administer Compute, Storage, Load Balancers on OCI
- Provisioning and managing the roles and access for Oracle Cloud Environments
- Respond to security vulnerabilities identified through periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments of the Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Oracle Cloud infrastructures.
- Develop, update, maintain, and implement automation to simplify and streamline the management of the Windows server environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows Server or Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems and their management tools.
- Creation and modification of AD groups, objects, and policies as they relate to the management of Windows/Linux Servers.
- Develop, update, maintain, and implement server hardening policies.
- Provide day-to-day operational support and perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis.
- Monitor compliance with the organization's information security policies and procedures among employees, contractors and third parties, and manage remediation efforts for any gaps reported in audits or recommended process improvements.
- Participate in Information Security Incident Response activities for the NFCU’s environment.
- Develop and maintain documentation of all aspects of the environment, supporting systems, and procedures.
- Provide functional and technical support, incident management, instance administration, release management, upgrade support, and testing
- Engineer, implement, and maintain patch updates and backups
- Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status
