Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Must be available to work long and extended hours)
Compensation: $70,000–$90,000 annually (Flexible DOE)
Job Summary:
The Senior Planner coordinates the fulfillment of sales orders by managing material requirements, tracking inventory, and aligning production schedules to meet delivery timelines. This role leads complex planning activities, identifies and resolves material shortages, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support efficient operations. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Senior Planner also supports best practices across the planning team while maintaining ownership of assigned product lines. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, assertiveness, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes new orders to determine requirements for and current availability of material castings, forgings, extrusions, and other material; understanding MRP is essential.
- Determine and communicate shipment lead times based on material and parts availability, and adjust delivery schedules as needed based on supplier lead times.
- Serve as the lead subject matter expert, driving complex planning projects across the organization.
- Respond to expedite requests by prioritizing and coordinating the movement of materials through manufacturing or sourcing required materials from vendors to meet shipment timelines.
- Control the allocation of incoming parts and materials to optimize delivery schedules and meet customer demand.
- Collaborate with Business Unit and operations teams to communicate material status, resolve critical delivery requirements, and address production scheduling challenges.
- Provide guidance and oversight to other planners on the team, ensuring alignment with best practices and planning standards.
- Maintains highest level of accountability for areas under scope, and supports other areas of the department as a planning leader.
- Support the business unit team by interfacing directly with customers regarding planning activities as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be eligible to obtain any required U.S. Government authorizations in compliance with U.S. export control regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal English communication.
- Minimum of four years of planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems, production processes, outside processing, and general procurement functions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively to resolve conflicting priorities, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Ability to monitor supply flow and proactively identify potential shortages or bottlenecks.
- Ability to develop weekly and monthly shipment schedules.
- Ability to recover schedule and revenue through effective planning and utilization of future orders.
- Prepare status and performance reports to support resolution of production issues, including LOB (line of balance) analysis and key milestone recovery.
- Strong attention to detail, assertiveness, communication, and teamwork/collaboration skills.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Avante ERP system and/or LN Aerospace is a plus.
- Completion of APICS coursework or certifications is highly desirable.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a general office environment with regular use of standard office equipment.
- Requires usage of computer and computer software.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate equipment.
- Requires answering telephone calls and occasional bending, reaching, and pushing or pulling of file drawers.
- Requires movement throughout the office and factory to collect, deliver, and copy documents.
- Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
